A cigarette-packaging machine generally refers to a three-dimensional packaging machine. Also known as a stereoscopic transparent-film packaging machine, a transparent-film hexahedron folding cold-packaging machine, or a transparent-film packaging machine, this equipment uses BOPP film or polyvinyl chloride as packaging materials to create a three-dimensional, six-sided, foldable package. It is widely used for stereoscopic, body-hugging packaging with transparent films applied externally to boxes containing cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, audiovisual products, stationery, daily-use items, and more—making it highly versatile in its applications.

BOPP Packaging made from thin films or polyvinyl chloride forms a three-dimensional, six-sided, foldable package. It is widely used for stereoscopic, body-hugging packaging with transparent films applied over the exterior of boxes for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, audiovisual products, stationery, daily necessities, and more. Its applications are extremely diverse and it is highly favored by businesses.

A cigarette-packaging machine is also a type of packaging machinery, so its primary function in actual production is the same as that of conventional packaging machinery—it performs either preliminary or complete packaging of various goods. However, unlike conventional packaging machinery, cigarette-packaging machines are primarily used to package small-sized products in actual production; generally speaking, they are not suitable for larger-sized products.
When maintaining cigarette-packaging machinery, it’s crucial to pay attention to the following: In actual production, cigarette-packaging machines typically handle small-sized products. When used for such products, the machine’s key advantage lies in its specialized packaging film. The packaging film used by cigarette-packaging machines is a transparent film whose toughness is generally lower than that of plastic films used for larger products. However, its major strength is that it’s extremely easy to tear open—perfectly matching the requirements of these packaged products, which need to be easily opened and handled with both hands. This is precisely why cigarette-packaging machines and their specialized packaging films offer such a powerful advantage when it comes to small commodities.
The operating principle of the cigarette-packaging machine is as follows: A cutter cuts the packaging film into lengths that meet the packaging requirements. Conveyors then transport small packaged boxes, and cylinders push the stacked packages—arranged in the desired configuration and quantity—into a folded, medium-sized package shape. Since this equipment’s heat-sealing oven does not subject the packaged items to overall heating like a heat-shrink packaging machine does, but instead employs localized, instantaneous low-temperature packaging, it avoids any temperature fluctuations within the box’s packaging materials. Hence, it is referred to as a cold-packaging machine. It can serve as an alternative to heat-shrink packaging machines.
Features of the vertical cigarette-packaging machine: This machine is characterized by sealed sides and both ends of the box, which has minimal impact on the appearance of the outer packaging. However, in this type of machine, the packaging film is located above the machine, making it highly susceptible to static electricity. As a result, the film feed process tends to be unstable, leading to a relatively high defect rate.

A Brief Discussion on the Second Reason for Insecure Sealing in Packaging Machines
The inability to seal properly is also related to the quality of the heat-sealing film. If the corona treatment on the composite liner is uneven and ineffective, and happens to occur precisely at the sealing area, the seal will definitely fail. Although this situation is rare, once it occurs, the product is inevitably scrapped. Therefore, in the color-printed packaging industry, this is a problem that must be addressed by the next stage...
