There are many types and applications of laminators available on the market. Some are used for plastic packaging of documents such as papers, photographs, posters, identification cards, and certificates, while others are suitable for plastic packaging bags and food bags. Laminators are also known as lamination machines, though their names vary from region to region. With the advancement of plastic packaging technology—especially the improved performance of laminating machines—conditions have been created for their use in certification industries, particularly for images and other authenticated materials. In recent years, due to standardized management practices within the certification industry, several large-scale, legally compliant certificates—such as business licenses, tax registration certificates, specialized bank licenses, and health permits—have adopted plastic packaging as the most effective method to prevent tampering, counterfeiting, and ensure long-term preservation.
There are many types of laminators available on the market, each with different applications. Some are used for plastic packaging of documents such as papers, photographs, posters, identification cards, and certificates, while others are suitable for plastic packaging bags and food bags. Laminators are also referred to as "offset printers," though their names vary from region to region. With the advancement of plastic packaging technology—especially the improved performance of laminating machines—conditions have been created for their use in certification industries, particularly in the field of document authentication. In recent years, due to standardized management practices within the certification industry, several large-scale, legally compliant certificates—including business licenses, tax registration certificates, specialized bank licenses, and health permits—have adopted plastic packaging as the most effective method for preventing tampering, counterfeiting, and ensuring long-term preservation. In the photography industry, thanks to the continuous decline in plastic packaging costs and the excellent visual effects achieved through plastic packaging, favorable conditions have been established for the growth of the consumer products market. Currently, the application of plastic packaging technology has expanded to include industries such as advertising production, specimen preparation, gift-making, and document processing.

Therefore, sealing machines are now widely and commonly used, with a huge demand, and the number of brands offered by manufacturers is steadily increasing. If manufacturers want to tap into the European market, their sealing machinery must be... The CE certification for plastic-sealing machinery complies with the Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC. Currently, the new EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC has been in effect since December 29, 2009. The previous Machinery Directive 98/37/EC, published in the Official Journal of the European Union on July 23, 1998, replaced Directive 89/392/EEC issued in 1989, as well as subsequently amended Directives 91/368/EEC, 93/44/EEC, and 93/63/EEC. Since January 1, 1995, the Machinery Directive has officially become mandatory law throughout Europe, requiring all EU member states to incorporate certain fundamental provisions into their national legislation. The EU Machinery Directive does not focus on technical details; rather, it emphasizes safety and health regulations related to the design and construction of machinery.
Sealing machines are now a widely used piece of equipment among many manufacturers in both the market and everyday life. Under the rapid development of market conditions and evolving consumer demands, these machines are constantly being upgraded. Beyond their ongoing advancement toward greater intelligence and automation, sealing machines should also expand into other areas. In addition to the internal mechanical technologies—such as the automation and intelligent features mentioned earlier—manufacturers should also pay close attention to updating the machines’ external design and specifications. While a product’s attractive appearance doesn’t necessarily make it an excellent one, an excellent product cannot do without an appealing exterior. Today’s consumers are largely visually oriented; thus, a product’s aesthetic appeal can bring significant benefits, making it something that manufacturers simply cannot afford to overlook. Besides aesthetics, size is another crucial factor to consider next. Although the dimensions of sealing machines shouldn’t be too small due to the inherent specifications of the paper they handle, manufacturers can still explore other avenues—for instance, by optimizing the machine’s height—to achieve better functionality and user experience within a smaller footprint.

A Brief Discussion on the Second Reason for Insecure Sealing in Packaging Machines
The inability to seal properly is also related to the quality of the heat-sealing film. If the corona treatment on the composite liner is uneven and ineffective, and happens to occur precisely at the sealing area, the seal will definitely fail. Although this situation is rare, once it occurs, the product is inevitably scrapped. Therefore, in the color-printed packaging industry, this is a problem that must be addressed by the next stage...
